Rare, powerful and resilient, this ebony-coloured Blakc Orchid¹ native to the Peruvian Andes is harvested by hand exclusively for Guerlain. It belongs to the extremely rare cycnoches genus, which accounts for just 0.1% of orchids worldwide.
It has the rare distinction of flowering for only two weeks a year and bearing male and female flowers on the same plants, which allows it to maximise its fertility and survival. In constant symbiosis with its environment, it intelligently conserves its energy, embodying a real talisman against time.
¹Cultivated Cycnoches cooperi.
Developed by Guerlain facialists, the application technique has been tailor-made to amplify The Cream’s effects.
Apply in the morning and evening to the face and neck.
Step 1: roll the tool horizontally from one side of the face to the other.
Step 2: continue from the middle of the face towards the ears and from the eyebrows to the hairline.
Step 3: make back-and-forth movements over the most marked areas.
Step 4: draw a horizontal figure-of-eight to move from one eye to the other, then move to the contours of the lips and face.
Since 2007, Guerlain is committed to preserving biodiversity, innovating sustainably, acting for the climate and creating a positive social impact. Above all, we seek to protect one of Nature’s most precious wonders: bees.
DiscoverDeploying its full resilience, the orchid emerges from the porcelain to be captured in eternity. This artistic feat and technical challenge, achieved in collaboration with Maison Bernardaud, pushes the boundaries of centuries-old porcelain craftsmanship. The flower's petals rise with lightness, contrasting with the immutability of the porcelain. Expressing Guerlain’s environmentally responsible vision, the new cream retains its innovative refill format, compatible with current Orchidée Impériale Black Cream refills. All the bio-based parts include Bernardaud porcelain remnants.
