Vanda coerulea stands out among more than 30,000 orchid species for its exceptional longevity. Capable of living for over one hundred years, it is known as “the flower of ten thousand generations”. An epiphyte, it overhangs the canopy, wrapping its gigantic network of roots, which can reach more than ten meters long, around the tree trunks. Its impressive biomass and wealth of phytochemicals have fascinated the Guerlain Orchidarium®’s researchers for 16 years. They have identified more than 35 compounds of interest¹ in it, which have been the subject of over ten scientific publications.
