Thanks to an exclusive collaboration, the contemporary artist Li Hongbo has drawn the Black Orchid¹ to adorn the black porcelain jar of the Cream, making it a true objet d’art.

The Eye and Lip Contour Cream is the first product of the Orchidée Impériale Black ultimate youth ritual.
It highlights the look with an exceptional youthful radiance.

Native to the peruvian Andes, the Black Orchid¹ is an ebony-colored wild orchid. It has the rare distinction of flowering only two weeks a year, and – even more remarkably – bearing male and female flowers on the same plants. An invaluable quality that allows it – through an in-depth understanding of its environment – to adapt its metabolism by establishing an ongoing symbiosis with its ecosystem. In the face of dangers, excess sun or a lack of light, for example, it responds by producing more male flowers, thus encouraging the fertilisation of female flowers and, as a result, more fruit. It intelligently conserves its energy and optimizes its longevity, embodying a real talisman against time.

A JAR ADORNED BY LI HONGBO, CRAFTED BY MAISON BERNARDAUD

For this artistic edition, Guerlain reached out to talented contemporary artist Li Hongbo and the luxury artisanat of Maison Bernardaud.

Inspired by the resilience of the Black Orchid¹, Li Hongbo imagined this spray of orchids apposed in 24-carat gold leaf by artisans from Maison Bernardaud.

Established in Limoges since 1863, maison Bernardaud is a prestigious family business, embodying excellence in French porcelain for over 150 years. Unique and reusable, the jars are all hand-crafted by a team of 50 artisans.

A GESTURE BASED ON GUERLAIN SPA EXPERTISE

When applying products, first breathe in deeply and when you’ve finished, breathe out while exerting pressure.

Step 1: apply The Orchidée Impériale Black Eye and Lip Contour Cream with the pads of your fingers. Then stimulate the eyes using the expert massage tool with its refreshing effect.
Step 2: drip a few drops of The Symbioserum into the palm of the hand. Use fingertips to gently massage the skin, starting at the centre of the face and working outwards. Move up and round to help the serum penetrate (go all over twice).
Step 3: apply The Orchidée Impériale Black Cream, then perform a massage using the expert tool. The two little rollers glide perfectly smoothly over facial curves.
