World Bee Day

Our commitment to preserving bees lives on every day through our many initiatives and partnerships.

However, one day in particular gives us the opportunity to raise awareness of the dangers faced by these pollinators in a powerful and visible way: World Bee Day. Since 2021, this international event, celebrated every May, has become a key date for our Maison.


On World Bee Day 2024, Guerlain invited the public to (re)discover the beauty of bees and the richness of their world through the lens of Joris Vegter, a renowned specialist in insect macrophotography.

Guerlain has teamed up with Joris Vegter in order to reveal the beauty of the bees. The photographer seeks out these insects by peering into their favourite flowers, revealing their remarkable beauty through the use of a macro lens and flash diffuser to create the gentlest lighting possible


The photographer tracks the bees and finds them on their favorite flowers, preferring to work at dawn or dusk—when nature slows down or, on the contrary, when the bees are busy and lively.


It’s in these moments that the photographer captures pure magic.
