This exclusive new collection reinterprets the original legend associated with Terracotta powder, launched by the Maison Guerlain in 1984: capturing the multitude of shades of the dunes of the Moroccan desert, swept by the sun’s rays.
This image of the sun sculpting the contours of the dunes was the inspiration behind Terracotta Golden Dunes’ compaction. This collection’s unique harmony is available in three revisited new cases, which remain refillable.
Guerlain has teamed up with the Aït Manos workshops to create this trio of exclusive cases. Keeping ancestral know-how alive, this Moroccan manufacturer is dedicated to modernizing an exceptional Moroccan craftsmanship technique: zellige, a traditional ornamental mosaic composed of coloured earthenware.

THREE COLLECTIBLE CASES, HONOURING MOROCCAN CRAFTSMANSHIP
Recognized for their excellence in crafting zelliges – colourful terracotta mosaics– the Aït Manos workshops have been enhancing and modernizing this emblematic Moroccan craftsmanship expertise for decades.
Aït Manos was inspiried by the Zelliges from Morocco for the three exclusive designs decorating Terracotta Golden Dunes’ case, combined with a colourful marbled print adopting the shades of semi-precious stones. Each of these refillable cases evokes a Moroccan desert:
Blue Daklha: a lapis lazuli-style blue highlighted around a red geometric motif, in a composition dotted with light blue and white.
Red Zagora : the contrast of garnet red and a duo of yellows through a design taking the shape of a stylized sun.
Green Agafay: the colour of jade dominates this design featuring a star-shaped motif around a gradation of green tones.

Two types of application are possible:
- Blending the shades: sweep the Kabuki brush all over the surface of the powder and apply it to raised areas of the face (forehead, temples,cheekbones and bridge of the nose) to warm up the whole complexion.
- Taking up precise shades: the bronzing shades to structure the facial contours, before taking up a hint of the coral blush shade to add colour tothe cheekbones or brightening certain areas using the luminizer shade.
Lending itself to ever more versatile use, the Terracotta powder is now compatible with application on the eyes. As a finishing touch, take up your chosen powder shades with a fine brush and apply to the eyelids for a lightly tanned nude or coral look.
