GUERLAIN X LEE UFAN ARLES
ARE PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE THE EXHIBITION OF THE LAUREATE OF THE SECOND EDITION OF THE ART & ENVIRONMENT PRIZE.
Caroline Corbasson will present her exhibition Something Moves at the Atelier MA, from July 7 to October 15, 2025.
THE ART AND ENVIRONMENT PRIZE
Since 2023, the Art & Environment Prize has annually rewarded a work of universal scope whose philosophical depth echoes that of Lee Ufan, and whose connection to the environment resonates with the values advocated by Maison Guerlain.
The laureate benefits from a support program lasting six to eight weeks with Lee Ufan Arles and a unique production space in the heart of the Arles region. Caroline Corbasson wins the second edition of the festival this year.
Born in 1989, Caroline Corbasson is a French-Canadian artist living in Paris. She is a graduate of Central Saint Martins College of Art in London and the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris. The sky has become her subject of choice. It takes shape in charcoal drawings, paintings, photographs, sculptures, and videos. Her sensitive and experimental approach has led her to collaborate with numerous renowned national and international scientific institutions, such as the CNRS (French National Centre for Scientific Research).
OBSERVING THE WIND
For her residency at Lee Ufan Arles, Caroline Carbasson's project revolves around the observation of the wind. Through its broader appeal to the sky, the wind animates many of her series and unfolds here in an introspective dimension. For her, the wind, invisible yet perceptible, represents a mystery. It carries within it a certain poetry that she enjoys. It embodies both a destructive and a fertilizing, pollinating force.
