The Guerlain Perfumers have shone a light on the intensity of the queen of flowers, exalting the spiced and honeyed facets inherent to rose absolute, while heightening them with plumes of frankincense and intense patchouli.
Rose Centifolia Extrait 1 is part of the Les Extraits Signature collection of extracts, which embody the quintessence of the Guerlain scent trail. This collection pays homage to the alchemy of the Maison’s iconic signature, Guerlinade, by highlighting the six raw materials within it and revealing the golden number of each one.
EXTRAIT 1 FOR 1 DAY
1 is the golden number of the Guerlain rose. Since day 1, Guerlain has been sourcing Centifolia roses* – also known as May roses – in Grasse, France. For 1 month each year, its petals are harvested in a daily race against the clock to conserve their marvellous fragrance, which calls for a maximum of 1 day between picking the blossoms at daybreak and transforming them into an absolute.

Inspired by the Guerlain heritage Square Bottle (1870), the iconic L’Art & La Matière bottle has been decked out in gold for Les Extraits Signature. An exceptional object crafted by Pochet du Courval – historic glassmakers for the Maison – this contemporary-style jewel of a bottle can be infinitely replenished at selected Guerlain boutiques.
