Rare, powerful and resilient, this ebony-coloured orchid native to the Peruvian Andes is harvested by hand exclusively for Guerlain. It belongs to the extremely rare cycnoches genus, which accounts for just 0.1% of orchids worldwide.

It has the rare distinction of flowering for only two weeks a year and bearing male and female flowers on the same plants, which allows it to maximise its fertility and survival. In constant symbiosis with its environment, it intelligently conserves its energy, embodying a real talisman against time.

A Masterpiece of High-Cosmetics, Orchidée Impériale Black The Cream boasts an exceptional fineness, fusing ideally with skin to instantly leave it more velvety and visibly younger.

Inspired by traditional craftsmanship, Orchidée Impériale Black The Cream is now exclusively produced semi-manually¹, in small batches. Guerlain spent more than 18 months to rethink entirely its formulation process, which requires two days’ production under meticulous human supervision.

To obtain this unique sensory feel fashioned by human hand¹, a maturation phase lasting up to 24 hours allows the formula’s constituents to slowly come together, enabling the cream to reveal its final structure.

THE PRECIOUS IMU-ROLLER REINVENTED, GUERLAIN SPA FACIALIST EXPERTISE AT ITS HEIGHTS

Developed by Guerlain facialists, the application technique has been tailor-made to amplify The Cream’s effects.

Apply in the morning and evening to the face and neck.
Step 1: roll the tool horizontally from one side of the face to the other.
Step 2: continue from the middle of the face towards the ears and from the eyebrows to the hairline.
Step 3: make back-and-forth movements over the most marked areas.
Step 4: draw a horizontal figure-of-eight to move from one eye to the other, then move to the contours of the lips and face.

For this art edition designed to last, French designer Ora Ito reveals his interpretation of longevity in a pot with timeless, near-perfect symmetry. Symbolising the fluidity of time, he etches an infinite number of striations into the porcelain, transcending the light reflected in it, elevating Orchidée Impériale Black to the rank of art.

Its avant-garde design, sublimated in 24-carat gold, has prompted Bernardaud to reinvent porcelain to make it deeper and more intense. Founded in Limoges in 1863, this prestigious manufacturer has been the embodiment of French porcelain excellence for over 150 years.
