The case for Néroli Plein Sud is adorned with a rich array of original sketches retrieved from among Saint Exupéry’s personal papers and manuscripts. Composed for Guerlain, the scene tells of his southern voyages: across a twilit sky, a plane cruises from Toulouse to Dakar, piloted by an aviator wrapped in a high-necked coat.
The story between Guerlain and Antoine de Saint Exupéry began in 1933 with the fragrance Vol de Nuit, composed by Jacques Guerlain in homage to the writer’s novel, Night Flight, which narrates his nocturnal journeys in South America. 90 years later, Guerlain continues this long-distance tale with Néroli Plein Sud, taking inspiration from the aviator’s voyages to Morocco, as recounted in his novel, Southern Mail. For the occasion, the House of Guerlain has collaborated with the Antoine de Saint Exupéry Youth Foundation. Embracing the famed writer-aviator’s universal humanist values, the Foundation is committed to working with grassroots associations in over 30 countries to support various philanthropic activities for education, culture and the fight against illiteracy.
