In celebration of Christmas and the House’s 190th birthday, Guerlain has given free rein to the French artist Giselle Balosso Bardin. Known for her poetic interpretations on paper, here she pays tribute to the Bee, an iconic Guerlain symbol.

This set is composed of a 50-ml Shalimar Eau de Parfum and a Maxi Lash So Volume mascara.

Shalimar Eau de Parfum is an iconic fragrance with bergamot, iris and vanilla accents, an intense sillage with a smouldering and slightly impertinent character that embodies skin-caressing sensuality. Inspired by the passionate love story between an emperor and an Indian princess, Shalimar, which means “temple of love” in Sanskrit, symbolises the promise of eternal love forevermore.
Its bottle’s curves were inspired by the basins of the famous Shalimar gardens. The fan stopper with its sapphire transparency recalls the gardens’ endlessly flowing water.

Maxi Lash So Volume mascara intensifies and enhances the eyes.
A sophisticated variation on the mascara phenomenon, it delivers incredible instant volume in deep black.

Perfumer secrets

Jacques Guerlain daringly used a completely new gourmand molecule, ethylvanillin, blended with the Jicky accord.

Swept away by this deliciously carnal creation, which he worked on night and day, he knew that he was paving the way for a "small revolution": the first pure oriental fragrance.
