Designed in 1853 by Pierre-François-Pascal Guerlain for the Empress Eugénie, wife of Napoléon III, this precious bottle is adorned with the symbol of the Empire: the bee, which is now La Maison Guerlain’s emblem.

A legend of sacred love, a radiant balance of jasmine and sandalwood

From the moment it takes flight, Samsara envelops with its prevalence of jasmine flowers. Sunny ylang-ylang flowers accentuate this all the more by marrying them with the generously radiant warmth of sandalwood. Finally, iris, tonka bean and vanilla enhance and unify the pairings to create a remarkable fragrance trail.

JASMINE

Jasmine grandiflorum absolute comes mainly from India. First the flowers are processed to create a concrete before being transformed into an absolute.Picked at dawn, jasmine grandiflorum, brings a green, fruity jasmine note to fragrance.

Sandalwood

Sandalwood essence comes mainly from Australia where the wood is harvested and distilled.
Sandalwood gives fragrance a woody, creamy note.

Ylang ylang

The ylang-ylang flower grows in the Comoros Islands. Too fragile to travel, it is directly transformed into essential oil via direct fire distillation.
Ylang-ylang essence is floral and sunny.
