Since 1828, Guerlain has explored, innovated and perfected its Fragrance, Skincare and Makeup thanks to its daring creators of mythic creations with timeless savoir-faire. All with Nature and Art as inspiration and the Culture of Beauty as a signature.
THE CULTURE OF BEAUTY
A CREATION MADE WITH DARING IS A PROMISE OF WONDER AND PURE EMOTION
For almost two centuries Guerlain has been enamoured with everything that Beauty encompasses, finding thrill in every artistic brushstroke and passion in every step of creative daring.
ART & PARIS
FOR CLOSE TO TWO CENTURIES GUERLAIN’S STORY HAS BEEN INTERTWINED WITH ART AND PARIS, THE CITY OF LIGHT
Our Perfume and Beauty creations provide opportunities for encounters with talented artists and artisans from the Baccarat, JonOne, Pochet du Courval and Lorenz Baümer ateliers. For over 12 years Guerlain has also been a partner of the FIAC (International Contemporary Art Fair.)
From Étoile to Vendôme and then the Champs-Élysées, Guerlain’s story can be mapped through the capital’s streets. Our iconic Boutique at 68 Avenue des Champs-Élysées echoes the excellence of our Parisian roots.
THE ART OF BOTTLE CRAFT
At Orphin, our Fragrance production site in the Yvelines, France, our “Dames de Table”, maintain traditional arts and crafts techniques with their skilful hands. From “barbichage” and “baudruchage” trimmings, to wax seals, their savoir-faire brings as much artistry to Guerlain’s most beautiful bottles as it does added soul.
MADE IN FRANCE
SINCE 1828, GUERLAIN HAS MANUFACTURED IN FRANCE
Since establishing its first factory in the shadow of the Arc de Triomphe in Paris’ Place de l’Étoile neighbourhood in 1828, the House has never left France.
Today, this manufacturing tradition continues in the heart of Cosmetic Valley at two production sites using artisanal expertise and cutting-edge technology. Fragrance is produced in Orphin, Yvelines and Skincare and Makeup in Chartres, Eure-et-Loir.
As an acknowledgement of its exceptional expertise, the Guerlain House has been recognised as a “Living Heritage Company” (Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant). Guerlain has received this state-awarded label, as issued by the Ministry of the Economy, since it was first created in 2005.
BOUTIQUES & SPAS
"SINCE 1828 OUR BOUTIQUES HAVE OFFERED THE DISCOVERY OF THE FRENCH ART OF HOSTING WITH PARISIAN SPIRIT."
A BOUTIQUE SPIRIT
Guerlain’s founding in 1828 also coincided with the opening of a first Boutique in the heart of Paris. Since then we have cultivated a Boutique Spirit we hold dear: welcoming customers into “our spaces” to share in our unique savoir-faire as well as an array of unforgettable experiences. Our Boutiques are designed like exquisite, gem-like settings for our creations crafted by the most talented artists and artisans.
Since 1914, it is from 68 Champs-Élysées that Guerlain has been able to shine, bringing Paris to all four corners of the globe. A Temple of Beauty. A Homage to Art. A prestigious and daring expression of the House. A place that invites exploration and experience, a destination for lovers of the “French art of living” and a place where history melds with whim.

Today, our Institutes & Spas carry on this tradition of excellence, embodied by settings that are as exclusive as the treatments offered. Designed by renowned architects, they are inspired by the cultural heritage of each location, creating a unique atmosphere. Our treatment protocols are the fruit of Guerlain’s own unique aesthetic expertise and savoir-faire, offering clients around the world a truly exceptional experience

In 2014, Thierry Wasser was awarded the French Legion of Honor.
To create new House fragrances, Thierry Wasser is seconded by Guerlain Perfumer Delphine Jelk. She juggles heritage and modernity to create new fragrances. Together they have co-created Mon Guerlain and a new compositions for the Aqua Allegoria collection.
BEAUTY & THE BEE
IN 1853 TWO ALCHEMISTS MET: THE BEE, NATURE’S ALCHEMIST AND GUERLAIN, BEAUTY’S ALCHEMIST
THE BEE BOTTLE
Our founder, Pierre-François-Pascal Guerlain, dedicated l’Eau de Cologne Impériale to Empress Eugénie to celebrate her marriage to Napoleon III. He then entrusted the glassmakers Poche du Courval to create a bottle adorned with his majesty’s coat of arms, bees and a festoon pattern inspired by the Place Vendôme column. The “Bee Bottle” that was to become such an icon, was born.
Ever since they first landed on Guerlain’s iconic Bee Bottle in 1853, bees have continued to inspire Guerlain with the same infinite passion that galvanized Guerlain’s founder. Nearly 170 years later, bees still inspire our creations, adorn some of our rare and precious bottles and influence an array of artistic creations and collaborations. Eternally linked with the beauty of Nature and far more than just symbolic, bees guide Guerlain’s commitment to sustainability. True wonders of Nature and environmental sentinels, bees are now gravely endangered.
For over 14 years, we have put its conservation at the heart of our work. This commitment is driven by a duty to act and pass on our legacy to future generations.
We are committed to preserving biodiversity, innovating sustainably, acting for the climate and creating a positive social impact. Above all, we seek to protect one of Nature’s most precious wonders: bees. We place their preservation at the heart of our Purpose and have dedicated several meaningful partnerships and initiatives to them.
